For Imperial Fists, I'd go Gladius and make the most of Bolter Drill and get 550 free points worth of Razorbacks, fill them up with a few points on AssCannons and Las/ Plas and storm bolters and start rerolling! Add a couple of squads of Lascannon Devs to make the most of IFs Tank Hunter (with cherubs) too, to knock out his heavies turn 1.

Agree with above, for imperial fist chapter tactics you could do a lot more to maximize on bolter drill. Take heavy Bolters wherever you can.

How do you think it would fair against a
FE CAD
with a HBC riptide with ECPA stimms
5 crisispods
4 crisis rifles
A skyray (sometimes snipers)
5 tetras
and the Firebase with EWO all around and stimms on the the riptide with the ion accelerator?
Which I'd consider a decent Tau list

Take advantage of your massing of objective secured and free transports. Take a Gladius, master MSU, and watch your Tau opponent spin his wheels as he can't kill 5 units/turn.

Tai would mop this up with a paper towel. There are way to many points in hq, tac squads a complete Las pred and many many other point sinks. Okay, all the tac squads have heavy bolters, and to the guy who said I have too many tac squads as point sinks, that's what a battle demi-company, part of the Gladius Strike Force, requires.

But full tac squads are kinda' bad. You've got all those heavy bolters in squads that should be moving; you've got anti-armor and assault components with light heavy weapons; you've got camo cloaks on a squad that's supposed to be in a transport; where's that pricey captain supposed to fight, etc...
I feel there are a ton of contradictory things in that list.

You should consider upgrading the Captain to a Chapter Master for 40pts, it gives you an extra Attack and Wound and increased Leadership, and an Orbital Strike (S10 AP1 Ordnance, Orbital, One Use Only, Barrage).
Also, you aren't fulfilling the requirements for the Gladius Strike Force with this list. You need to include an 'Auxiliary choice' formation from the codex. These include the Armoured Task Force, the 1st Company Task Force, the Anti-Air Defence Force, the 10th Company Task Force, the Storm Wing, the Supression Force, the Centurion Seigebreaker Cohort and finally, the Land Raider Spearhead. Automatically Appended Next Post: Then you can use each of the 3 doctrines (once per game).
