Hi,

Libbys for GK have access to both of these weapons for free.

I was wondering why anyone would ever take a sword over the falchions as they provide an extra attack for free with all of the bonus' the sword gives.

Normally they cost extra on strike squads or terminators so I'm a little confused, just don't worry and take the falchions?

hey what time is it?

They come with a Nemesis Warding Staff, which costs 5 pts, and are allowed all other Nemesis options that are cheaper for free.

The reason why you would take a sword is WYSIWYG purposes - that is, if you own a Librarian model with a Nemesis Force Sword and want to run it as it appears.

It's just wierd GW rule making also like dreigo has an iron halo AND storm shield in his wargear. It's not perfect but it works

He has TDA (5++), an Iron Halo (4++), and a Storm Shield (3++). Draigo is very specific on his redundancies.

He has 3 layers of invulnerable saves in case some pesky sniper decides to remove one or two. (I think there's still a guy that does this?)

There isnt a guy who does htis - the vindicares shield breaker just ignores the invulnerable save.

Does it ignore ALL invulnerable save or does it state ignore the models invulnerable save? If you're only ignore my 3+ first layer invulnerable I'll gladly then use my 4+ second.

IIRC the wording is "Invulnerable Save cannot be taken against Hits..." or something very similar.

Also, the sword used to give +1 to invuln save in CC, and the falcions gave +1 attack, and the Halberd gave +2 initiative. The sword vs. Falchions is a hold over from the previous dex. and the sword was downgraded to "just" a force weapon. In the current edition WYSIWYG is the only reason why you would take one with a sword, as all of the other weapons are superior in the extras granted..

Staff is still the better option, due to the bonus to deny rolls. Some people take the cheap Daemonhammer, but if the attached squad doesn't already have two, you are equipping your GKT wrong.

Staff is the way to go. A (usually) 3+ DtW bubble is huge.
