After participating in this thread, I feel inspired to start a discussion about some weapons in the 40k universe that don't get any attention. Sure, lasguns and bolters are cool, but have you ever modeled thrown knives onto your guys? (I have).

Spoiler:
Any model equipped with a pistol may replace that pistol for a Thrown Knife for free

Thrown Knives are 12" S User AP - Type-- Thrown Weapon

Any model equipped with a pistol may replace that pistol with a thrown axe for one point

Thrown axe r18" S U+1 AP 5 Type-- Thrown Weapon

Thrown Weapons count as pistols when shooting and calculating bonuses for charging, but the user can also opt out of using other melee weapons to use the Thrown Weapon's profile in melee

I went to Hershey Park in central PA this year, and I have to say I was more than a little disappointed. I fully expected the entire theme park to be make entirely of chocolate, but no. Here in America, we have "building codes," and some other nonsense about chocolate melting if don't store it someplace kept below room temperature.

From my Star Wars custom dex:

Gun of Command – Range 12” S- ap- blast 1, *Your Thoughts Are Mine

Bolt-Caster -Range 18" S4 ap- *Electric Bolt 1

Geonosian Sonic Weapon- -range 36"- S7 ap- Heavy1, blast, ignores cover.

Heavy Bolt-Caster -Range 24" S5 ap- Heavy, *Electric Bolt 1

Your Thoughts Are Mine - Each model hit by a weapon with this rule immediately takes a leadership test with 3 d6. If this test is failed then the model immediately deals a number of hits equal to its attack profile and weapons against its own unit. Allocate wounds to these affected model last. This effect is over after wounds are resolved and it does not incur another leadership test if failed.

Electric Bolt - Shooting attacks with this rule draw a straight line equal to its range. It causes hit per model under the line to each unit affected. In addition rolls of six to penetrate count as glancing hits against vehicles.

Space Marines: Jacks of all trades yet masters of GRAV CANNONS!!!.
My Star Wars Imperial Codex Project: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/641831.page
It has 7 HQs, 2 Troop types with Dedicated Transports, 5 Elite units, 5 Fast Attack units, 6 Heavy Support units, 2 Formations with unique units not in the rest of the codex, and 2 LOW choices.

An Ordo Xenos Inquisitor or Inquisitor Lord may take a Hrud Fusil for +8 pts.

Hrud Fusil:

Range: 30 S: 4 AP: 4 Assault 1, Warp Plasma

Warp Plasma: If a 6 is rolled to wound on a weapon with Warp Plasma, the weapon becomes AP 2.

40k is 111% science.
