Hello Dakkadakka, Im actually not new to Warhammer 40k, Ive been a fan since 2013, but only now have I had the means to actually build an army, and engage in brutal W40K warfare. You see it all started back in 2013 when i didnt have a driver's liscense, I didnt have a checking account, there were no local stores that sold W40K stuff, and all I had was a used 5th edition rulebook. That rulebook really captivated me though with all the beautiful concept art, the lore, the races, and the more I learned about the game, the more interested I got. The Tyranids really caught my eye, mainly because they looked freakin awesome but also because they weren't very mainstream. I know, Nids arent the best race for noobies to start W40K on but come on! I play Zerg all the time in StarCraft, how different can it be? Anyways, 2 years later or well, right now, I finally have my own checking account, a place where I can drive to and play games and even tournaments and ultimately the means to start an army. So, after surfing eBay, a trip to Michael's, and some free time at my house, the beginnings of my army is created!!!!

Behold, my incredibly minimalist, budget setup!!!!!!
5 termagaunts (and many more minis still to be shipped to my house), an X-Acto knife, 2 Winsor and Newton paintbrushes (sizes 0 and 000), an outdated rulebook, Testors super glue, and 5 Testors paint bottles (Beret Green, Sublime Green, Sunflower Yellow, Black and White). I plan on painting my army with black, rocky carapaces with a toxic, acid colored body.
Anyways Im so stoked that Im finally getting my army put together and I cant wait for the times Ill share with you guys on DakkaDakka!

Set yourself up with an assembly line, you'll go crazy painting each model individually. Instead paint the base coats on all the models then move on to your next color and the next and so on.

Thanks man, ill try that out. I was planning on painting my first model individual as a test model, you know to test out my paint scheme and whatnot but once I'm done with that Ill do them all one coat at a time.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
