Here's a mix-it-up job with the legs and arms and head from the new devastator box, and parts from various other Blood Angels kits. Yeah, yeah I know. But at the rate I'm going and with the current release cadence, maybe by the time I'm done, Blood Angels will get grav cannons. Or it'll be two codex releases and grav canons will be so yesterday! Just watch, it'll all be heavy bolters. Or, new apocalyptic blast portable vortex pistols. With a 12" range!

As always, all feedback and critique is much appreciated

Thought this was a picture of an 'Eavy Metal miniature from a codex or some such at first. Very professional.

Ok, but seriously stop claiming GW stock pictures as your own.

@ProfessionalAmateur - Thanks!! I wish it were from a codex. That would mean that my Blood Angels could have grav canons

I hope that this was in jest?

On the off chance that you ARE being serious, it is 100% my work. Because the grav cannon is a new bit, I missed a mold line on the backpack (and since it is a very hard to see spot, I didn't feel like going back to correct it). Here you go:

You're funny, Talys! You may leave mold lines on my models any time you want.

I love that second picture!

Stunning paint job talys, love the gem work in particular!

Quick question: is this going to be a member of a tactical squad? I only ask as full devastator squads have blue helmets traditionally.

Minor point to bring up, but I was curious to ask it all the same.

Thanks and great work once again!

Take it easy.

You don't know me son, so I'll explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

Thanks, Red Thirst!!

I'm not a huge fan of blue helms; so the real reason the helmet is red is just because I like it that way. I just think they look dorky, same as the yellow for ASM

To better answer your question though, his right shoulder has a devastator squad marking on yellow, so the intention was to be a dev marine, but practically, I'll probably paint up 4 boxes of devastators and then use models wherever they are needed.

My tactical squads are probably not going to use grav, because they're awfully pricey, but I'm sure I'll try it out.

So, are you going to play the Blood Templars or the Ultra Angels?

Really nice work there Talys- I wouldn't worry so much about that little mould line. I've seen GW miss them more than a few times!

Thanks very much guys

I hate it when I miss mold lines Between the backpack, arms, and grav cannon, there's 4 parts that have to line up, with very little allowance because the backpack doesn't have any vertical play. Because I wanted to paint the inside of the grav cannon and the front of the chest plate, I fixed the backpack in place, then, built the two arms and grav cannon as a separate assembly and aligned it to that, then glued it together after everything was done. I didn't want to take the backpack off to fix the mold line (which I caught during priming), because then I'd have to fuss with the alignment all over again.

I love it when blue guys have red helmets, and red guys have blue helmets. But that's just me.

Nice work, and yeah, I can see where someone might mistake this for a leaked model. It's pretty stand up to 'Eavy metal.

@General Kroll -- Thank you very much

@Mechagrunt -- Yeah, my original models were all correctly colored helmets I think I grew out of it. I like red (and white) helmets on blue models more than the reverse.

But from a practical perspective, too, it makes it easier to mix and match heavy weapon models between devastator and tactical squads. Especially since Devastator squads used to be pretty bad... just backfield shooters with lascannons, hehe.
