Hi all,
I'm currently planing on making a space marine force, and can't decide on which minis to go with.
Either I go with option

A) a hybrid of GW and anvil industry parts like this guy I did. It used GW shoulderpads head and pack.

Or

B) just use anvil black ops troopers with GW back packs

Any opinions?

Right now I'm making 10 Striketeams (five man units that my custom chapter is organized into)
2- bike teams (one will have a captain and the other has a chaplain)
6- tactical teams
2- devastator teams
8- Razorbacks to transport them.

Thanks for your time,
Dave

If you're just playing for fun and not tourneys or GW stores, I would vote to save the money and go Anvil all the way. The Black Ops Exo-lords are top-notch.

Totally agree. I was hoping to do something similar with my Fantasy Army (Tomb Kings) but my local store was a GW so I had to fork over the money so I can play there. Which is totally understandable, it's like bringing outside food into a restaurant.

Where ever you can save money, do it!

Well, seeing as Anvil prices are pretty similar to if not higher than GW (definitely worth it though!) I'd say cost is less of a factor. In which case, I'd definitely suggest mixing in some GW parts here and there. The odd bolter, Beakie helmet or SM shoulder pad go a long way towards selling their look as actual Space Marines.

Thanks guys,
I agree that using GW stuff makes sense if your going to a GW tournament or store, but last I checked my local store sold Warmachine, magic, and more so I don't think that'd be a problem.

Also how to you attach photos to the forum? I tried with my iPad but it seems to refuse to do it.

I got a custom marine I designed that uses GW head, pack, and shoulder pads. But anvil torso, arms, legs, and weapons that I made out of my bits that looks awesome.

Thanks again for the helpful comments,
Dave
