Oh neat! I remember Netstorm: Islands at War quite well. I'll look in to supporting that...

Thanks Melissia, as mentioned above in my post we are backed by the original developers that made netstorm on working to create this 3D spiritual reboot of the gameplay style, our project has also gotten greenlit so once ready it will be on steam but we will be making DRM free copies available to backers that don't want to go through all the hassle of updating through steam all the time.

If you know anyone else that played netstorm be sure to pass the word on about the project , right now we are trying to get word out on facebook and twitter as much as possible.

Oh, I'd actually prefer to get it through steam. It's less hassle for me that way But I have a reliable internet connection.

We are prepping the concept of the new altar design which we plan on showcasing in the next week we are just going over the concept with the original netstorm art team about adjustments they recommend making.

Sigvatr if you know any other old time nestorm players or advid RTS players be sure to spread the word the more coverage we get on spreading word about how cool the old ns was and this rebirth of its style the better chance our kickstarter stands of succeeding.

been a bit since my last post, the kickstarter did not manage to reach the funding goal at the end but we did raise 40k and fell short of the last needed 10k goal.

While the kickstarter did not succeed we did raise 40k and showed there was still interest in Netstorm gameplay and we are slowly continuing on getting new art and some temp assets done for the game to get a playable early tech build up.


I just wanted to share some screens of some of the stand in assets we are getting done to complete the wind faction for early access build for testers on Steam.


these assets will be used until we get the main unit and building models finalized and done up but give something for testers to use and play test elements of game-play with...


Also the team launched a separate on site donation campaign which has slowly been climbing in support.

We have adjusted the scope or our funding campaign for the project, we are not seeking to raise 50k as before to produce a fully polished build with all remaining factions finalized and working, instead we are seeking to raise 10k to finish up the two factions that we have the inital concepts finalized for. the 10k will cover the modeling, texturing and animation costs for those units along with production of remaining interface and game art for a polished early access release on steam in August 2016 with two working Tempest factions.

Indiegogo since launching has climbed to 480 back help join in supporting the project.

The buttons in center of screen are not part of the final gui but were meant to be slightly larger of the icons for the production bar.. and this screenshot was not taken from fullscreen.

the gui doe scales for screen size and takes up less space then the original NS side bar one did.

The first version we are putting out will have Sun and rain faction and limit lobby working with accounts, with full funding we would also get the wind and thunder factions added in + additional features added for advanced game mode setting in the battle ring for play options and additional units for the four factions.

this would provide 4 playable faction then of Sun, Rain, Wind, Thunder. and expanding lobby features which would aim to support ladder match play ranking and ability to also give one's priest avatar in-game unique looks.

Excellent.

If I may give a recommendation, take a look at Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance for an RTS UI that is almost perfect.
