Greetings and Salutations.

So I am looking for some help here.

I am attending a small tournament this weekend. And am trying to fit together what small number of miniatures I have into a list that can do something against everything. Basicly.

So here is the list.

Spoiler:
++HQ++

Skyrunner Autarch (Banshee mask, Fusion gun, Scorpion chainsword)

Skyrunner Farseer (Singing spear, The Spirit Stone of Anath'lan)

++Troops++

Guardian Defenders
+Platform with Starcannon
+10x Guardians
+Warlock w/ Singing spear

Storm Guardians
+6x Guardians
+2x Guardian with special weapon Fusion gun
+Warlock w/ Singing spear
+Wave Serpent w/ Holo-fields, Shuriken cannon, Twin-linked brightlances

Windriders
+4x Windrider with Scatter laser
+Skyrunner Warlock w/ Witchblade

++Fast Attack++

Vyper
Shuriken cannon, Starcannon

++Heavy Support++

Dark Reapers
+2x Dark Reaper w/ Starshot missiles
+Dark Reaper Exarch w/ Tempest launcher

Atm, I have these minis, and also 1 Farseer on Foot, and a couple of more SwordWarlocks on foot. I have some more "nonstorm" Guardians and also a couple of more Windriders.
The WaveSerpent is really a Falcon, but the others have said thats ok. For now atleast... :-)

So. I am wondering, is there something I have missed that I really should have added? Something added thats worthless? Or something completely different I should remember/think about/add?

Thanks for your time!

Looks fairly solid overall.

I don't really like the Spirit Stone of Anathlan much, but many people won't take a seer without it.

Also not really fond of Vypers myself, but again, many others like them.

I'm assuming the Storm Guardians melta-suicide and the Dark Reapers are you anti-tank. And your Star Cannons are for Heavy Infantry/ Characters/ Monstrous Creatures/ Light Vehicles.

But overall looks pretty solid for 1000 points to me. (But I'm not the most competitive person ever, so someone else may have better advice)

3000pts Blood Angels (4th Company) - 2000pts Skitarii (Voss Prime) - 2500pts Imperial Knights (Unnamed House) - 1000pts Imperial Guard (Household Retainers)

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

Yeah, the Storm Guardians, incl. Serpent with Bright lances, and the Dark reapers for tanks. And StarCannons (and maybe DR's if needed) for Heavy armoured infantry. Then ScatterLasers for HighT targets with not so much armour. Basicly.

And I like my Vyper model. One of the first I EVER painted! :-) So think I will stick with that.

Thanks for the reply!

Take an EML on the Guardians to help deal w/air units. The Reaper Tempest Launcher is ok, but I'd suggest another EML there as well. This way you don't have an unkillable Vendetta or equivalent zooming around.

Consider taking the Vyper with two Shuriken Cannons. It grants another shot to plink off light vehicles, and with so much rending I doubt 2+ armor will be a major concern.

The Autarch really doesn't have anywhere to go. If you could give him a reaper launcher rather than the melee kit he'd be strong with the bikes, and if he were on foot he'd be good with the storm guardians. If you can't do either, I'd suggest dropping him for more bikes.

Those are my best suggestions for the models you have. Good luck!

So... Reaper Launcher is Heavy, but it is possible to take one and still move and such on a bike? Thats awesome! Will work it somehow.

2 ShurCans on the Vyper isn't something I thought about...

Thanks for the input!

2 s7 wont ever bring down a vendetta, so the extra 50+ points are just a waste. I run guardians with scatter lasers. much preferable than eml imo.

Thanks for the input...

I made the change to give the Autarch a gun (reaper) instead of the melee things.
But I did keep the StarCannons I had on the Vyper and in the Guardian (I had already made a HWP for the Guardians, and didn't find an extra ShurCan for the Viper).

But to pay for that (and something else that I can't remember now) I removed the Warlock from the Guardian Defenders.

Was that the place to cut a Warlock? Or was the StormGuardians or Windriders a better place? (I think it was better here. Since they are more needed in those other units and here on the defenders it was more a case of "just in case something happens")

Again.

Thanks for the input.

Small update on how it went.

The heat took most of the fight out of us players, so we just had a more causal 40k day instead, wich suited me fine.

Played a couple of games though, and the army did really really well. Was surprised with how well the StormGuardians did at their task.

For the future I need some more things that can soak some damage. But otherwise it went great. The reaper launcher on the Autarch was good! But mostly as a scary thing the opponents targeted!

Thanks for the help!

Drop the tempest launcher from the dark reaper exarch. It doesnt fit with the shooting from the rest of the squad. You are losing 2-3 good BS5 shots from a reaper launcher or EML.

EDIT: Note that the warlocks are the only thing that keep your guardian squads alive. Any guardian squad, windrider squad or storm squad loses its toughness when the warlock isnt concealing them.
