A few years back, exalting posts became a thing. I like it, as it serves a similar idea as "liking" posts on Facebook, and in doing so you can see how popular a post is, who liked it, and it often gets pushed into the feed so that your friends can see the thing you liked, possibly ending with them liking it and thus boosting the views of said content.

But on Dakka, as far as I can see, exalting doesn't most of those perks. There is no exalt count listed on a post. There is no summary of users who have exalted a post.

The only real interaction with exalts is being able to view "My exalted threads", which is not terribly useful when compared to the My Subscribed Threads menu.

And so I ask thee, oh merciful conflagrator of Danish building toys(LegoBurner), can we see some improvement to the Exalt Post system? I feel it would boost the user interaction with the site and promote users to explore threads and topics that their normal browsing habits might not ever present.

"Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! ... It’s become the promotions department of a toy company." -- Rick Priestly

Exalted threads go into the 'top threads' list, and exalting posts goes towards content being selected for the blog roll.

Posts don't display the number of exalts or who did so to help avoid it just becoming a popularity contest.
