The End has come, and the Old World was ripped apparently and crumbled into oblivion. But from the ashes a new world is born and Sigmars demigods fight for the races of the Old to enter the New.
I like the looks of the Sigmarites, but want to tone down the glorious goodie good-good into something more in the lines of Diabolo III. Hooded heads! And a bit of dark, otherworldly and brooding feel...
Plan is to use Dark Angel Knight hooded heads and maybe make cloaks to complement...
How are you guys planning to tackle the sigmarites?

I'm mostly happy with them, and I'll probably just go for a more subdued scheme to tone them down a bit. Steel with gold accents on the armour, purple robes/tabards/banners, maybe some marble bits and bobs. I definitely want them to look somewhat ostentatious and fantastical, just not as much as they are in the studio pic.

I have plenty of space marines already but if I do end up with any then I think they are the perfect subject for some dayglow airbrush work.

I think I may paint them up like ultrasmurf's. Funny, and the recent WD smurfs with red accents look awesome.

Same, same issue I tend to have with sanguinary guard since I generally like gold in small amounts on my models. If I pick some up, I'm going to give them a darker steel look, probably just some gunmetal with Nuln Oil and Ironbreaker highlights and some gold on some of the smaller details and might try some dark blue for the shields, might swap the heads with some others, but I would need to get some I really liked. The sculpts look good, and I like the style personally, but I get why some people don't like them.
Actually, hmm...some Spartan-like colors might be interesting to try out...

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard. |

Yeah, I'll definitely be trying some SW heads myself! They'd do a lot for transforming the minis.

I honestly don't particularly like the overall aesthetic of the new Sigmarites (although the Khornate minis seem a little bit more visually interesting), so it is unlikely that I'd buy a complete kit. That being said, those metal death masks have some potential for conversions in other projects, and the shields might provide some opportunities to practice my freehand as well.
Actually, now that I think about it, you guys might be onto something with SW head swaps. Some fleshier bits could balance out the otherwise sterile armored parts.
