Hey Dakka,

I haven't painted any figures in a long time, about 25 years, and starting to get myself back into it. I had some old metal Catachan Imperial Guard, and figured it would be good practice.

I had two of the same figure, so put them side by side, for a comparison. The one on the left is base coat and shade. The one on the right is base coat, shade, two layers and a bit of dry brushing in spots. I did that on the five major colors on the figure, the flesh, brown, green, silver, and red.

Not the greatest pictures, but should be able to see a good amount, and give some critique, and pointers on how to improve. I was using a wet palette, and have been working on thinning the paints, but not great at figuring out the ratio for a good thin paint, but not going to thin. I used the newer Citadel paints for the colors as well.
