Hey guys. Here's some pics of my newly finished Dark Eldar. These are the first models I've painted since I was about 12 years old and Tau were a brand new army. Needless to say my painting skills back then were non-existent, but now I'm getting back into the hobby.

12 years old when Tau came out. Man I feel old now.

Those are cracking for someone thats had such a gap in the hobby, great colour scheme too.

amazing.

I painted most of my army before I got my hands on my codex.

I would have painted it in the scheme of the kabal of the flayed skull.

These remind me of them, I especially like the kitbash/conversion on the archon, it makes the model looks good, like the old resin model.

my only small issue is the highlights on the green (especially the archons helmet), it looks kinda silly honestly, its kinda hard to do that, and I just dont bother.

what is the colour on the shoulderpads? It looks pretty cool, if its a mix pls tell me, it would look pretty cool on a daemonic sword IMO.

happy wargaming,

-Mikey

Yes, I can see what you mean by the archon's helmet highlight looking silly. I may go back and redo it after looking at some other people's works for ideas on how to make a glowing, glassy effect.

The shoulder/knee pads on some of the models are painted with Leadbelcher, Runefang Steel and then coated in Biel-tan Green shade for a green metal effect, then highlighted again with Runefang Steel

Well done. A nice striking color scheme, perfect for DE. My favorite part is definitely the patchwork skin cloak on the archon. Keep up the good work man

Under the couch

The bone looks really nice.

The colour of the base edges is a little jarring ... not quite sure why, possibly just a little pale.

It's a very good return to the hobby, though
