I'm planning to convert some of the new Age of Sigmar models, namely the big hammer guys, into Bullgryns in order to fit the theme I have going on for them. However, as I actually want to use them in battles without them floundering hilariously, I want to know what's better: to keep them with the grenadier gauntlets and slabshields, or to pay extra for the power mauls and smaller shields. What loadout do you use for your Bullgryns, and why?

I'd go with slab shields, but that's because I like artillery behind an aegis defense line with camo cloaks behind the bulgryn for a 2+ cover save. Now that serpent shields are one shot and shorter range there isn't enough guaranteed ignores cover to make it invalid. And if something gets close, it's clobbering time!

+15 points to go from 3+ save to 5+? I'd stick with the slabshields.

Gathering the Informations.

I go for a mixed loadout.

2 Slabshields to every 1 Maul/Buckler.
