apart from all the haters lets discuss the lore a bit... we know that there are now multiple realms each with a unique distinct theme going and some leaked images suggested epic awesome fire bearded slayers and such (fire realm)... what do we think of them and potentially what each realm could bring in the future? and are you planning any themes around the realms?

I heard from my GW store manager (which means nothing really) that the beast realm is also getting more focused on actual beasts and fantasy monsters, so expect to see weird and wonderful creatures...

and since armies now are not bound by actual "armies" I see a lot of great potential builds in the long run.

so who wants fire dwarf slayers (if you can find the leaked image I would be grateful)

this is not to discuss the rules but the lore and such... so please try to keep to topic.. anything lore wise goes I say... if you have question please ask as well.

This thread never got any love.

I have a question: are gork and Mork still around? Kicking ass and making waaaaghs?

If anyone knows, let me know

Thanks

With the way the End Times...ended, I had predicted the next Warhammer edition was going to be like Planescape. Despite the high risks involved of such an exodus, all the races kinda took a page out of the Old Ones' and Lizardmen's playbook and traveled to the land beyond lands, the Realm beyond realms, because their own world was blowing up. The artwork really does suggest this Planeswalker theme.

It so happens I AM planning on something with the Undead, because they had a really interesting story in the End Times. I already have a warband in mind, but I haven't decided if they are a.) mainly a roving band between planes or b.) "the way is shut, and the Dead keep it" sort of guardians to a certain mini-plane, like a bit of a sidequest for other players as they travel to the major Realms.

Btw, that fire Dwarf Slayer I think is THE Slayer, I think it's Gortrek/Grimnir the God of All Slayers.

If I could I would spoon you for finding that pic for me, I just love it... is that going to be in the rulebook or the gates of azyr book? ... I might just get a couple of dwarf slayers just in case... slayers are getting a "fiery" new theme going

I REALLY hope the realm of beasts is about beasts. We never really had enough beasts in WHFB

yea that would be awesome, more focus on actual beasts instead of the people who ride/own them... bears are almost certain, bears are cool, bears in armour are cooler, bears in armour covered in spikey bits if warhammer

There is not this idea.

I still don't quite get the realms thing. So, they're based on the winds of magic, right? But I keep seeing reference to the "mortal realms". Are they the same places?

I think there are mortal realms for each wind of magic, and then the Warp as we know it? That's how I understood it from brief snippets.

Armored bears from the realm of fire or metal..that would look good.
