Freezing to death outside the Fang

OK so age of sigmar has finally dropped and I for one am generally pretty happy with it, I was lucky enough to have a demo game with the new box set and from my what I have experianced (from the demo and the online battlescrolls) the game is pretty balanced, all of the units are a lot beefier than before but everything has been brought into line in terms of power. The sudden death mechanic is actually pretty good, some things may need to be fixed about it (ie ogres) but on the whole it will allow for balanced and tactically fulfilling games. Magic is much more reasonable and no longer takes up huge amounts of time and the combat phase is now massively tactical as units take turns to attack rather than at initiative steps, which really makes you think hard about what to do. All in all I think AoS has turned out to be a pretty good game.
I will continue to play WFB as AoS is a very different game, but not a bad one. I love the rules of WFB very dearly and am glad the full model range will still be stocked as I love how personal each WFB army feels (the hobbit and LotR games never appealed to me because they lacked the same personal feel), but I'm sure after time AoS will feel the same way.
And finally just to cap off, whats with all the complaining about AoS? if you don't like the rules dont play, if you prefer WFB play WFB instead, it's not like it's illegal now or anything, my local gw store has said that so long as you have the stuff you are welcome to play WFB in store as much as we like (ask your FLGS I'm sure they'll say the same, they can't exactly stop you from playing if its not causing a problem). If you are upset about the fluff being continued, the old stuff is still there, black library still sell the warhammer novels (I'm sure things like gotrek and felix will be about for ages yet due to popularity). GW have provided some great new models, rather than complaining, enjoy it for what it is.

If you only are going to comment to complain about what I have said/AoS, please, just don't I'm absolutely sick of everone complaining about something that they are fully capable of functioning without and that has no impact on their wellbeing.
sorry for the long post.

What's the point of this thread if you don't want a discussion? An echo chamber?

You know thats not exactly how public opinion works. People do have a right to be annoyed by what GW has done to the system and it does effect players of WFB beyond just don't like don't play. People have put a lot of investment into a game thats now pretty much dropped for the new system. Sure people can continue to play but eventually its going to be phased out like battlefleet gothic, gorkamorka, Epic and the other systems.
As for been capable for fully functioning without if you expect the players who don't like what they have done to just go away quietly and not be able to express their opinion because you don't want to hear it personally.
Well as said at the beginning, thats not how opinions work. You have the right to like the game and praise it here just like they have the right to do the opposite. We can't censor opinions we don't agree with.

To some of us out there we've pretty much had our system dropped for a new shiny more simplistic game. Do you really expect life long players who don't like it to not say anything because its kind of a big deal especially if you don't like the rules of the new game. If thats the case you might be sat upon £200+ of new fantasy models that you no longer have a system for unless you find people willing to play fantasy instead of AoS with and as gaming clubs start phasing it out, especially if you only have 2 or 3 local gaming clubs you are pretty much sat on £200+ of outdated models. Which im sure will be eventually phased out for newer, better scaled AoS models anyway Gw isn't in the habit of letting people play with their old stuff, this thing of been able to use your fantasy models is just to keep fantasy players happy till they can phase them out.

Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

I hate being told to shut up.
So....

I think the game is overly simplified and won't hold interest for long. I think it's a shame what they did with the fluff. I don't like the lack of imagination put into it by basically being 40k with space marines in a fantasy setting.

Yeah, what's up with all those people having different opinions and making them public on a public internet forum? Riot!

the point was to give his opinion or " 2 cents" and as we know everyone has an opinion, like everyone has a certain organ... some people (you) have an extremely large organ that is lodged between his ears D:, remember, his opinion is no more right than yours, having a discussion of opinions is like having a discussion about whose fart is tastier...

So hes right, the point of the thread was to create an echo chamber. He states no comments against AoS which means the goal of the thread is to create echos of how great the system is without any kind of rebuttal.
As for the rather colourful description of a discussion of opinions you have it doesn't make discussion both sides somehow invalid. Each side has a right to participate in open discussion. If not it is as said, nothing but an echo chamber of opinions the OP agrees with and creates no meaningful discussion.

I think guys the point of his thread is to display his genuine approval for something you so obviously hate. We have all got the picture we know you don't like the new game. We hear you, no one is telling you to shut up but maybe some of us are hinting that we are a getting a little tired, just a little mind don't turn the hate guns on me, of all the constant negativity. We know GW are far from perfect we know they rub us up over lots of things but that's life guys, enjoy.

It seems the comments in this thread could as easily fit into one of the many existing discussion threads. Moving on.
