Hey, Iv been browsing the new warscrolls for age of sigmar and have noticed a lot do profiles have an asterix/star symbol instead of a number, I can't find a meaning for this.

I thought it was a way of suggesting a zero figure but on further inspection that makes no sense

Any ideas?

Check the special rules for the model on the Warscroll. It'll explain there.

I checked for that too but it doesn't seem to

The first entry is Malekith. He has three asterix one for Seraphons claws attack value, one for Seraphons jaws wound value and one for his movement value.

The additional rules don't provide any additional information for any of those stats

Do you see the table below? The Move is *, so look at the table under "Move"

When Malekith, the Witch King has suffered 0-3 wounds, the Move is 14". Likewise, the Attacks for Seraphon's Claws are 6, and the To Wound roll for Seraphon's Fearsome Jaws is 2+

do you get it now?

The table below the stats gives you the values to insert for the stars depending on wounds lost. Basically, the model weakens as it takes more wounds.

Ah yes thank you, my eyes skipped right over the tables to the written special rules on every profile I checked

That's a cool way of weakening models

Thanks all

Can someone tell me what to do when a unit has a star for movement? The TK Necrosphinx has the flying rule and a * in the movement stat. How far can it move?

Look at the table under the "Move" column, and compare how many wounds it has suffered to find which row to use the value of.

This.

Big monsters slow down as they get wounded.
