Hi guys,

I recently got some Vanguard Veterans planning on kitting everyone out with power axes and jump packs. The sergeant I planned to put a power fist on.

I saw all of the shields and power claws on the sprue, and they're tempting me. I'm now considering putting storm shields on the power axes, and doing powerfist/claw on the sergeant.

I'm not sure how much AP3 or better there is out there, and seeing as they're 10 points a shield, I wonder if this is a good use of points. Furthermore it means one less attack with the power axes. What should I do?

Thanks,

Edit: Or I could give them all power fist and lightning claw? They'd be glass cannons then!

Edit2: As they're going to be Blood Ravens, would it be fluffy to include a Librarian in this squad? Perhaps with invisibility? I may use a Librarius Conclave with a 1st Company Task Force.

I am currently testing different loadouts these days.
Yesterday I had a whole 10 men squad deleted from play by some kind of Necron closecombat unit with AP3s. So it convinced me to put a few storm shields in there to give me a chance VS low AP weapons.

I currently proxy them with my Sanguinary guards that are setup as follow

Basically :
6 Power swords (will get 4 storm shields (will probably be magnetized to swap with pistols just to be safe))
2 power axes
2 power fists

I would take a few Storm Shields with Bolt Pistols for tanking hits and the rest gets cheap 5 pts power weapons. Don't go overboard with upgrades, they are still only W1.
