Over the years, I've done a few re-paints of figures that I've gotten from gift shops or other non-gaming minis.

Here is a fairy statue that I found at a thrift-shop. She wasn't in great shape when I picked her up, but all she really needed was a loving paintjob to bring out the good things in the sculpt.

For this one, I went with a limited color scheme with only browns (and orange is light brown). I feel she turned out pretty nice.

I've posted her to CMON for anyone who cares to vote.

I like the skintone; what's the general recipe? I got some Mexicans to paint and that looks almost spot on for Latinos...

She would in my opinion benefided more from a paler skin tone, and a different colour on the dress. But still its a Nice miniature, Well done

This skin tone started out with P3 Bloodstone (a saturated warm brown). I shaded it in two layers, first with a purple color (I'm pretty sure it was P3 beaten purple) and second with a dark green (either P3 Cryx Bane Base or Reaper Black Green).

From there, I reclaimed the base layer, and highlighted up by mixing in a fair flesh tone (I think I used Rynn Flesh or something along those lines).

I've done some variants on this recipe, and swapping out a color here or there really creates some nice variety (for example, you can leave out the dark green for a lighter tone, or highlight up with Reaper Golden highlight for a less red skin tone). Or even swap out the base color for Reaper Tan flesh or P3 Idrian Flesh.

Thanks. Similar to my usual brown skin recipes.
