Well, we'll restrict in our games army size to 10-12 Warscrolls and 100 wounds or so.

Restrictions like these favor some armies such as those able to summon units, like Daemons, Vampire Counts, Chaos, and Tomb Kings.
Other armies like High Elves become more resilient by FnP on 4+ (Witness to Destiny).

Model selection is another issue. Multi-wound models or single wound models.
My experience in WMH shows that multi-wound models with 5-8 wounds (characters and heavy infantry) often die easily when wounded.

Opinions?

I was thinking this the first game I had I took bretonnians with some wood elves and a dwarf character... ( I just chucked stuff in a box that was to hand!)

The fact that cavalry are 2 wounds seemed to be a bonus at first but by the end of the game I wondered if it were not more of a hinderence considering that we'd decided to cap the game at 50 wounds.

I was against dark elves with lots of executioners and witches with hellebron... executioners are horrible, even worse than before! they are the single reason I lost they really did carve me a new one!

My point being that I don't feel they pulled there weight and I wish I'd have taken more single wound stuff.
