Hey Dakka,

I made a speed freak list (6 trukks boyz+2 warbikers squads, 2painboyz warboss w/lukky stikk and 3 trakktor kannons) you know how it is..

And well I got utterly destroyed I was tabled by turn 4 against guard. and turn 5 by salamanders. and i barly won against dark angels (4-5).

I lost prety much every other game horribly badly. (2 grey knights, 1 tau and 1 eldar, 2 skitari and a tyranid(although i drew with one skitari and tyranid))

So I was wondering If I'm maybe doing it wrong? Have you had more sucess than me? maybe iam going wrong some where with my lists...

P.S my LGC dont alow any FW models, they just feel it makes things harder than it already is.

Trukk boyz were my bread and butter unit before the new codex came out, but they don't really cut it like they used to. The trukks themselves die to a weak fart and the boyz die by the droves when the trukk explodes. A few units isn't bad but when you have 6 (I've played with 6 a few times) it either goes really well or really bad. If you're opponent has even a reasonable amount of volume of fire (broadsides, scat packs, even mass heavy bolters) the trukks go down quick. I would recommend taking a couple units of trukk boyz with tankbustas in the others. Throw in some bikes (a unit of 14 with nob, painboy, and Zhardsnark is ideal) lootas, maybe a dakkajet or two and you have a solid list. Hopefully this helps a bit.

You can't run boys with boys on bikes. It's like only eating spinach and thinking one day you'll be big and strong. You need more protein to give you muscles.

Guard? They fear Tankbustas and anyone with a killsaw.
Nids fear Flashgitz, bikers, Tankbustas and mekgunz (traktor is best vs flying hive tyrants)
Space Marines die to Tankbustas, mega kannons, meganobs, and Flashgitz.

You can see overlap with a lot of those. I suggest taking some of the overlapping units personally. I don't take a list that doesn't have 15 Tankbustas and 10 Flashgitz, but that's my personal preference.

You need to change things up from 'Boyz with Choppas' to 'Boyz with betta fings'

Tankbustas, Lootas, even MANz. Bullyboyz is a great formation (if you can get the models, WS5 MANz that completely bypass the horrendous Mob Rule).

Consider Gretchin over Boyz as troops, they can get the Objectives and allow you to splash on on better stuff.

Yeah trukks die pretty quick. Tankbustas in trukks would have helped with those armies. I would have dropped dropped two of the trakktor kannons and taken kustom mega kannons instead. or even regular kannons would have helped.
I prefer to take some lootas as well. If you want to do a pure speed freaks you might want to look at the blitz brigade which would be a 5 battlewagon rush with scout to get you good and close to the enemy. Pack them with Ardboyz and go to town.

I run a mixed boyz and nobz in trukks/battlewagons force, about 2 trukks to one battlewagon. Sluggas in trukks, shootas in wagons. Tankbustas, bikes, deffkoptas, and buggies for backup/AT. I win most games I play by just slamming everything up the board and into combat as quickly as possible.

If you need some extra slots, you can't go wrong with the Great Waaagh - I put my grots in that detachment so they've got a shot at deep striking somewhere useful

I like Bully Boyz in trukks and smallish units of tankbustas in trukks. Do as much damage as you can with them before they die.

What to do with troops, maybe just take grotz and call it a day. I think troops can be a problem for orks. It is tough to get something that is both useful and cheap.

It is unfortunate that forgeworld is not allowed in ypur group. It helps allot of armies function better (including orks).
