With the Lizardmen rules coming out soon I am gonna need some help organizing my models into a KoW army list.

I currently have: (all foot stuff is saurus)

4 Generals on cold ones
Bunch of standards and drummers to spread out
6 Priests
6 Heros on foot
4 Triceratops with Howdahs
4 Anchlyosaur with Howdahs
1 Brachiosaur (counts as carnosaur? or custom rules?)
20 Cavalry
16 Kroxigor
60 Temple Guard
60 Archers
60 Spearmen
120 Hand weapons
6 Large flying reptiles (Big enough so that each one will probably be 3 smaller ones in worth)

How would I go about basing these?

Obviously the heroes will be individually based (although they will use spare models for more scenic look) and the monsters will be individually based.

How many units are typically in a big game? 6mm models are really cheap so If 20 bases of infantry is too much for a large game I can comfortably tone it down to 15 units of infantry. 20 bases will have 15 men to a base (rules counting them as size 20) or I can put 20 to a base and have 15 units. If I expand the army I can always put two bases together and have size 40 units if need be.

Besides the Brontosaurus I am 100% confident all my models have rules coming with the reptile lists being made.

To play in 6mm will converting inches to cm be enough?

My main opponent will be elves so keep an eye out for some battle reports in a few weeks.

Id probably wait with basing until the lists have been finalised, as some units may not be available in some sizes (for instance, elites are rarely available as hordes, few units can be fielded as legions, etc). Basically, Id wait for a bit. Shouldnt take too long now, Id guess abou a week to a month at most. Makes more sense to wait for the time being.

As to how many units youll need... no idea at this point. Really depends on how the list turns out (ie, elite, horde, etc). Using cm should be okay though, I think.

Yea I guess I will have to be patient. These models are like mere days away from arriving so I am in full on plan mode to get them ready.

Alright booting this back up.

For the base infantry sizes we are going with 40mmX15mm for each troop. And then will scale it up as need be.

My friends wood elves have pixies, werebears and I think even elephant men,, tree men and centaurs along with the elves. I think he has a few giant tree mosss things too. All of which seem doable by mixing the Nature and Elven list yes?

I think the herd list might be a better ally than nature, since it features minotaurs (could work as both werebears and elephant men), centaurs, werewolves and harpies (which might work as pixies... otherwise, sylvan kin might work, from the elf list... though they may have been renamed).
Treemen and "giant tree moss things" should be covered with the elf list, yeah. Either treeherders or forest shamblers, depending on size.

I see.

I was looking on the Nature list on army builder and nature has centaurs, trees and gnomes etc. Has this changed?

Gnomes have changed iirc, folded into a catch-all unit. But nature doesnt have large, non-shambling infantry thatd work for werebears and elephant men. The herd list has were-units, and is also neutral. Theres a bit of overlap between the lists, but overall, I think herd would work a bit better. Unless youre planning to use lots of elementals as well.

My group has been playing KoW in 6mm since 1ed. We use the rectangular bases from Renedra, the 50mmx25mm per Troop( so 2 bases being a Regiment etc) with 25mm square bases for commands.

One of our group members has been using his lizards as Orcs without problems so far. We've maintained roughly 10 men a troop (give or take. The Bachus historical troops are smaller than Microworlds and are ranked up more per base, where as the lizards are larger and more horde themed so are spread out around 8 per base). As for board size, we ended up with several very nice custom ones as we found 2'x2' a very good size for games up to 1500points, 2000 at a stretch (we have a 4x2 for the 2k+ games).

Good looking work! Love the stragglers on the bigger beasty. Most of my loose infantry went towards making Command bases

Cheers mate, yea I have like 350+ infantry so I thought I may as well use them here and there. Definitely going to make some nice commanders with body guard.

In the middle of making a rule set for Micro World Lizardmen for use in Kings of War.

Completely lost on the Brontosaurus but most things are simply odds and ends taken from standard lists. So any help on what such a huge beast points and rules could be would be great.

I need to get an army to fight the little men, but I am unsure what faction?

I am very tempted to go for either Mole People or Hittites.

KoW have already announced the Lizardmen will be included in their expansion "We love you more than gw does" book.
