I've heard that Slannesh may have left us. Is this true? If so, who is god no. 4?

If Slaanesh has left us, that is 1) boring and 2) clearly because GW doesn't want to deal with the whole boobies-thing.

On the other hand, Slaanesh was always underused by GW....so, it wouldn't be such a great loss.

Something in the news & rumours thread; the Slaaneshi icons have been replaced with something new, and there seems to be some conjecture about it. I wanted to see if there's anything concrete.

Maybe it's a new symbol for Slaanesh. The old one, the mixture of Mars and Venus, was kind of generic.

I'm thinking this. It still has some blade-looking sweeps and a circle. It's somewhat related to the old one while more trademarkable!

Looks like a symbol for a horned rat to me. Hope it isn't the case that slaanesh has gone, although they never really got it right imo

Isn't the Horned Rat a very definite triangle though?

There is a fluff bit in AoS that slaanesh was captured and imprisoned by the high elves after feasting on a bunch of souls.

So Slaanesh may very will be going bye bye in AoS.

The 4th chaos ICON Could be:

Horned rat god
New symbol for Slaanesh
new dark god based on just dark magic (see dark elves malekith/morathi helms)

I imagine it would be a loss to those who actually have slaaneshi themed armies and miniatures of things like slaaneshi daemons and the like.

Of course given that all of the slaaneshi daemons are still in the Chaos Daemons lists and marks of slaanesh can still be taken by those models that used to be able to have them, I don't see what all the panic is about anyway. Thorgrim's in the dwarf list; as far as I can tell, dude's dead in ET. We know now that almost all armies will get their names changed and yet there is still empire and Bretonia army lists. Yes getting rid of Slaanesh is too implausible to be taken in right now, but I don't for a second believe the free army lists have any bearings on what's to come

Yes, just because his marks and daemons are in the World-That-Was factions' warscroll compendia it doesn't mean he will be in AoS era.

Those warscrolls have absolutely nothing to do with what's happening now in the new world, it's just a way to update ye olde armybooks for new rules, that's all.

Otherwise you may suggest that Marius Leitdorf is still alive and well (physically, not mentally!).

There is a leaked picture of Chaos star with fourth, different symbol that looks like Malekith's helmet's horns and I heard that elves had caught Slaanesh, so they might've pulled a stunt along the lines of killing him and turning one druchii into the new evil god.

Or he changed (to avoid boobs in a game marketed to younger audience).

Or... yeah, just wait for new fluff and see.

I don't think Slaanesh is gone. I think this is more a political correct / legal thing than anything else. With the transgender high profile stuff in the news, i could see the Slaanesh symbol (its a mashtogether of the universal symbols for male and female, which indicates slaanesh's hermaphroditic nature) causing a stir.


I hope its just a pre-emptive politically correct strike (not that i love that) and the dark prince isn't gone, because Slaanesh was always my favorite god. Throws the best parties.

Yeah, but by that same logic, having a God that is basically a sex crazed hermaphrodite might be something they want to avoid altogether. And while I would love it to be Malal, his icon is a white and black skull. This looks nothing like it.

Nah, Tyrion is just gonna return a Slaaneshi Daemon Prince,or maybe even merging with the God/Goddess of excess, and a host of Slaaneshi Elves. Because people keep complaining how much of a Mary Sue he was. And now you will have Mortal Warriors of Slaanesh -- all hermaphrodites .

That symbol looks like Morathi's Crown more than the symbol for the horned rat....and since Morathi sure was a big proponent of Slannesh I think we're good. I suspect the earlier comment of the current symbol being a bastardization of the male/female symbols could be the reason for the change.

Didn't slaanesh personally grab Morathi in the end times? Maybe she's his new champion for dealing with age of sigmar stuff

Tyrion has imprisoned Slaanesh, so he might be out the equation for a while. Although with the plan to continually advance the narrative, his escape is surely coming at some point.

I figure they're trying to rebrand Slaanesh. Lots of gamers think of him/her/it/other as sex-crazed, which is kinda accurate but majorly misses the point - if Khorne is the god of blood, skulls and battle, Slaanesh is the god of sensation, temptation and excess. It's just as Slaaneshi to gorge yourself on a feast every evening as it is to regularly host orgies, but that side of things is too often forgotten.

Yeah he is definitely about excess, so there should be more chubby and passed out slaanesh models.

I really hope not...

Not only have I been playing this game for 21 years, I have an exclusively slaanesh army...

I'm willing to give AoS a shot but that would be the last straw for me.

Ah, bugger... Just when I had settled on a Slaanesh theme for a potential AoS army...

Just do it. You've got the rules, so you can still play it. Just make sure to practice your dance moves...
