how are you guys playing the measuring? we were looking at doing it from the model but its just such a mess.
and we both agree that we wont want each other putting models on top of nicely finished bases etc.

whether you measure from the model or the base, as long as it's consistent i can't see any issue.
you can whine about base size and advantages etc but the model can also be modelled for 'advantage.'

in my opinion, if the model is deployed on turn one and you can tell where to measure from for both players, it makes sense.

we quite enjoyed playing it with base to base but im interested in other takes.

I have been doing base to base mostly. Obviously some models extend past their base, and are hard to deal with. So when say, a gryphon riding lord has part of the gryphon way off the base, I can assault that too.

Like you said, you just mention where you are measuring from and its all good.

Totally measuring from the base. Simple as pie. Delicious, unambiguous pie.

I was playing AOS today and the store manager yelled at us because we measured from the base.
He was also building a mournfang, with the spear pointing way in the front

Thanks

Yup, base to base is the only way for my group. We are also slowly rebasing our minis to round bases to further sigmarise them

Want to play a balanced Age of Sigmar?

The Age of Sigmar Project Points Cost!

Points cost for ALL armies, including unit upgrades and special abilities!

There is not this idea.

Same as everyone, measuring from the base. It's so much less of a pain.

Have been having a lot of success even with weapons by just measuring from base to base, its a lot easier (been doing it for years with old Fantasy and 40k) and everyone at my FLGS agrees for the most part.

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.
40k/HH Night Lords 5000pts.
Orks Waaaghmacht Spearhead 2500pts.

Base 2 base seems to be the consensus around here as well.
