A few friends and I got together to do an Attack wing campaign, where we each pull in points to be spent of defenses, ships, and upgrades. I have attached the rules below. The game s played on a Hex map, with our battle groups marked by glass beads, and combat played on the standard 3'x3' play area.

I am here because I made a very bad call... Before I switched factions (we are allowing each player to do that once, if they decide that they are unsatisfied with the way their first choice plays), I sent a fleet of 135 points to engage an enemy fleet.

I was wiped out.

I brought my 135 point fleet of independents against a fleet of 4 Reman Warbirds with Cloaked mines and Romulan Tactical officers. I had the Following (if memory serves)

Bioship
Energy Blast

Vidiian Battle Cruiser
Hypothermic Charges
Grappler

Krenim Timeship
Chronoton Torpedoes

Gorn Raider
Jammed Communications

I was decimated. I managed to wound one of my opponent's warbirds, but it wasn't enough to kill him (one more freaking hit!) I realized that with my fleet wiped out, I had little in the way of defenses for my home system. The other players faired better, with one guy controlling 4 systems himself, the guy to wiped me out taking control of 2 more, and a third player ontrolling a Deep Space Station and his home system.

I am now playing romulans, and am trying to come up with a way to handle as much as 6 Reman warbirds... while only have 110 points to spend. Any idea?

Borg have been pretty good for me. a mate and I played a 100pt game, he took three Romulan warbirds and I took a Tactical Cube and the Sphere bare bones. it ended rather quickly for him.... I no they're no Reman warbirds but I thought it might be a win for you.

Reman Warbirds are tasty and spamming them against a mixed list of indy ships is... certainly 'competitive'...

Go Dominion, take fighters, mess up his day...
