First of hi,

I didnt know a forum like this existed

my question

My assault marines are going to arrive soon and I was wondering if I HAD too use those torsos with the belts if I equip them with jumppacks. I dont like how they look....but on the other hand id like my marines to be fluff friendly more than anything. I
ve also seen that other assault marine types like the sanguinary gaurd and the death company also dont use belts. This probably has to do with the packs already being connected to the armor.
So can normal spacemarine armor also be connected to the packs? Or do they have to have the ability to take em of.

thanks!

You dont have to but it will look odd to those who like the straps for jump packs

It makes no gaming difference.

Im actually not sure if Fluff wise they can be magna clamped or not.

There is no rules-requirement to build your models any particular way. If you want to build them without the harness and just say the packs are clamped to the back of the armour, that's entirely up to you.

Ultimately, they are your models, do as you want. The kits include both torso types. I've not seen any fluff that states the jump packs have to have the harnesses attached. The SG have the Mk IV jump packs, which do not require the straps. If you look at the various marks of armor on the Forge World site, you will see that the Mk IV assault armor does not have the straps, but the Mk II assault armor does have the straps. Mk III was not used for jump Pack Assault Squads and Mk V and VI both have the torso cabling.

I personally never build a jump pack mini without a harness now we have the new kit, but then again, I like them, and if you don't, there's no real reason you should have to use them - Death Company, as you pointed out, give you a precedent for later marks of armour uing jump packs with no cable harness. Presumably, in that case, they're attached the way Mk.IV jump packs are, however that is.

Did you know? The Reach belongs to the Forsworn.
