Saw a picture on FB today and the question is, which chapter is it? I'm not able to find anything in my limited google-fu searching so I was hoping someone here would recognize it. Common guesses are Blood Ravens or Firehawks but the colors and chapter (company?) banner don't match either.

Spoilered because it's a huge pic.

Pretty sure that is Blood Angels.

EDIT: nvm. The eagle and banner are wrong. Maybe its a custom chapter?

Space Marines: Jacks of all trades yet masters of GRAV CANNONS!!!.
My Star Wars Imperial Codex Project: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/641831.page
It has 7 HQs, 2 Troop types with Dedicated Transports, 5 Elite units, 5 Fast Attack units, 6 Heavy Support units, 2 Formations with unique units not in the rest of the codex, and 2 LOW choices.

Some bespoke homemade chapter?

The image looks like someones attempt at digital painting Space Marines in battle. Not very well accomplished but its okay.

I keep looking at it and my view on it is going down at every glimpse.

I'm guessing a homebrew, yeah. I actually really like the art. Better than a lot of the stuff in current GW publications.

Yeah, I'm going with fanart of a homebrew chapter.

Awesome pic, though.

That artist does a ton of official work for GW.

The problem with it being Blood Ravens is that there is no blood drop in the center of the bird. Also, the banner shows a white bird and black lightning bolt., neither of which show up in Blood Raven iconography so far.

Blood angel successor chapter (homebrew), IMO. Thats an angelus boltgun and a glaive encramine.

It's possible that they're the 2nd Company of the Hawk Lords. Not completely uncommon for the heraldry to change between companies, and the Purple and Gold trim does look like them more than anything else.

Other than that, I'd go homebrew too.

Homebrewed BAs succesor chapter. Red armor and a bird/angel/feathers motiff doesnt necessarily mean BAs, but one of the assault marines (a sarge?) has a glaive encarmine & a angelus boltgun.

Defiantly not Blood Angels or Blood Ravens, I agree with above it is a successor chapter. But that is as good as I can give you

The only canon chapter badge I can think of that comes close is Marines Malevolent, but it's certainly not them. Unless someone has recoloured the image?

Seconded on the Hawk Lords, the artist probably just shied away from stark purple.

Maybe I'm colorblind or something, but there is no purple in that image. Those marines are rust red.

It looks like the SM chapter from the dawn of war trailers. And my friend said that those were Blood Ravens

Blood Ravens have off white shoulder pads.

Blood Ravens now have like desert-tan shoulder pads, as seen in Space Marine.

could their shoulder pad colours be how company membership is detirmined?

Looks like fancier versions of regular Power Sword and Storm Bolter to me. Nothing implies they were what you claim.

Blood Angels have two things that I can't spot in this picture:
1) Heavily ornamental armors
2) The Sergeant are supposed to have black trimmings on shoulder pads. (Might not be the case in this successor chapter tough).

BA successor might be the best guess anyways... Whatever it is, it's homebrew.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I actually just spotted that the banner looks similar to BA Company standards (at least those of the 2nd & 3rd Companies)
