Hey folks, I was just hoping to brainstorm with you all to help get me some ideas. I'm currently engaged in a game of Rogue Trader (FFG RPG), my first RPG ever. I want to do our ship justice, the Pride of the Aquila. I've taken an Observation Dome for it, and I'd like to represent it.

It's an Imperial cruiser: http://imgur.com/ZMQ0Pfj

Along this length that you can see, I was thinking of encasing it in some sort of clear, long dome. Something to this effect: Of course, I'll just make it clear because it would have to be quite small for this ship.

The problem is, I have no idea how to do that. Do you guys happen to know any materials so I can fit such a dome on top of that long 'neck' of the ship, in the front? In other words, do you guys have any suggestions for how I can encase it in a sort of long, clear 'dome'?

It isn't "fluff" - it's lore.

I don't quite follow what you want to do. If I were fitting an observation dome to the top, I would probably look at jewellery and get some kind of crystal or bauble. I get the impression you want something slightly different? Could you draw a sketch of it?

Getting a faceted bead, cutting it and glueing it on top if the front prow might work. Or some sort of cylinder cut in half and glued to the spine. I’d hit up the bead section of your local craft shop and look for something the right size.

Take the model to the dollar store or ACE hardware store. Find something packaged in that infuriating clear plastic blister pack type. It would be a drill bit, easy out, nail punch, screw driver etc. Buy the tool for your workshop, and use the packaging for your dome.

Off the cuff,
