Now that Bolter Drill affects Sternguard Special Ammunition, would you allow Close Range Bolter Drill to affect Sternguard Special Ammunition as well?

No, permission is not given for use with the special issue ammunition in sentinels or terra.

The permission is only given fron codex space marines.

This right here. The rule in the new codex allows for bolter drill only to affect special ammo. If gw wanted close range to also be affected, since it is it's own special rule that has nothing to do with bolter drill, they would have updated the digital version with the change after the release of the new codex. Or sent out a faq. Since neither happened, I wouldn't allow it.

Whiile you guys are correct, expecting GW to update somthing in a timely fashion is ridiculous.

It's pretty apparent RAI that it would effect it.

So it's RAI that Blood Angels Scouts should be WS 4 and BS 4 because that's how they are in the new Codex: Space Marines?

If you wish to use the rules of one book I don't think it's RAI you should be able to retrospectively apply the benefits of another book.

I was hoping there was some sort of precedent for it applying backward. Not a big deal, I prefer Bolter Drill as of right now anyway. But I like the SoT relics, so using CRBD would be fine IF it affects Sternguard Ammo. Since it doesn't, I would rather keep the basic Bolter Drill.
