So coming back to 40k after a stint in Fantasy. Hoping that you guys can help me make a wise choice in which of my 3 armies to pick back up. Of roughly equal size, I play Blood angels, World Eaters (Now Daemonkin pending a codex purchase) and Necrons and would like to greatly expand on one of them. Unfortunatly, For the next few months I will only have one oppenent to play weekly, whos main army is about 15000 points of Eldar. After a quick test game over the weekend, i saw 1000 points of my Blood Angels (first case i grabbed so thats who i played) aboslutley shreaded by a Wraith knight with the sword and accompanying wraith host of all Strength D pew pew. I know he is also investing heavily in some sort of Jet bike formation. Im not looking to cry OP (lets be serious tho haha...), just looking for tips on what army would be able to give us the most FUN & balanced games. For what its worth, i tend to gravitate towards melee themed armies (Bloodthirsters just make me drool) but have been pretty happy with the shenigans that Necron can pull in that deparment as well. Much Appreciated.

You'll have to get used to being shredded by Eldar I'm afraid, especially if your opponent makes cheesy lists.

I'm not very familiar with any of your 3 armies. From the little knowledge I do have though I believe that Blood Angels are pretty weak at the moment and could do with a new codex. So best not to invest in them until that happens. If you're looking for an army that's tough and can challenge Eldar then of the remaining two I would say your best bet is Necrons. By all accounts Khorne Daemonkin are fun and can make characterful armies; they're just not particularly powerful.

Probably Necrons. Blood Angels can win every once in awhile with a few strong formations, but things really need to go their way. I'm not sure how competitive KDK is. Necrons are good, the only armies you have to try incredibly hard to beat are Marines(that are optimized... lost of things suck and you could wipe them) Ravenwing thats all skimmers and bikes, and Eldar. So think about those

Eldar Will do that.

If you want to expand on what you have, I think the Daemon kin Corn book is bananas. nothing like getting shredded then suddenly Summoning more things than you can shake a stick at.

Or you can Codex jump into SM or DA (DA is looking fun right now.)

Necrons. You can build it fair and fun, but if he brings the cheese so can you. Extend a hand of friendship but always have some way to defend yourself.

Thanks for the feedback. I had a feeling that BA would be the worst of the three based on my experience, just figured id ask the class before righting them off completely. To be fair i am more interested in Necrons or KDK anyhow. I dont know to much about how the KDK book is holding up other than the "tactics" review i read on 1d4chan haha. Seems the closest chaos has been able to come to the revered 3.5 codex that i began the game with. I feel like Necrons is a very solid choice and probably where im leaning, however im weary that all their toughness (IMO what makes them a competitve army, the guass rule is cute but i have a general feeling that Necrons as a whole have no "teeth") will be for not against all of the str D and heavy weapons. At least with the apperent speed to be had in the new Khorne dex, 1/4 of the army should be able to reach the eldar lines and hopefully make the blood god proud. This is getting frustrating
