I have a few things but nothing of note really. Looking for ideas on how to build a very solid base. I have regular Eldar(again not too much), Tau, Space Marines and Necron at the moment.

Venoms are amazing so id say start picking those up. The formations from the Haemonculus coven are fun and some are pretty brutal, If you want grotesques (and you will) start cruising ebay for Isle of blood rat ogres and convert them using parts you will have left over from the Talos pain engine your going to want.

I hear the DE suck as an army right now. Me and my friends are fairly okay though in terms of skill.

I was originally going to start them as my first army but everyone at my FLGS advised against it. Then the new codex came out and it tore them DE to shreds in terms of rules.

So I collect Tau. Someday the DE won't be a disaster and I'll play them.

I just started DE as well. I honestly picked it up because I wanted a challenge, and two games in they definitely are giving one. But its a nice change from orks/tau/gk.

Since you already have Craftworld Eldar I'd consider collecting Dark Eldar as allies to start. Maybe do a bit of counts as before buying a full army.

I already have a 3800 pt Tau army. I have things together, modeled and painted I have only fielded in 1 of 100's of games. I like the DE aesthetic and I want an army that kind of handicaps me

Then by all means. After I'm done Tau I'll likely move on to DE as well funnily enough. I've currently got about 1650 points of Tau but only about 1200 of it painted.

I have literally thousands and thousands of points, but about 5% painted! So you are doing well in my books!
