Has anyone ever used purple power cleaner/degreaser instead of simple green/as a paint stripper?

How did it work out?

I was using simply green until they changed their formula, purple power is the way to go these days.

Yep, I've made the switch, too. Although, if the model is all metal, I use an actual paint stripper (found a nice biodegradable one) that does the job real well.

Purple Power's all I've used. I've been pleased enough with it to not look for something else.

I get much better results from purple power than simple green.

However, it is a bit irritating to the skin....

As far as dumping it, I would have to read the container, but I think you can.

I use Purple Power.

So far it has stripped the bad paint jobs on the models I got used on Ebay.

However it hasn't stripped the black primer yet.

I have only had it submerged for 24hrs, and used a toothbrush to scrub it, perhaps longer would remove the primer.

I use Purple Power and have for years. It is caustic, so wear gloves when using it. Also, a note of warning, this stuff does eat Forge World resin. I learned that the hard way.

You say that I am crazy. I say that you are right!

Very little will get through good primer without a good hard scrubbing.

But i ride the purple dragon since the green changed.

Also tried LA awesome but it loses potency quickly.
