Hello everyone and welcome to my blog!

I'm a Wargamer out of sunny Florida, and paint a wide range of miniatures from historical to sci fi and fantasy. I also paint commissions for people who like my work and have contacted me. This blog will cover both my personal collections and my commission work.

To begin, I want to post a sample of my work, including the free stormcast eternal from the new white dwarf to show my current painting level for commission work Furthermore, we have the current sum of my skitarii troops for my 40k army, and finally we have some Revenant knights from mantic games.

Mantic is one of my favorite miniature companies. My undead army is mostly composed of their undead line, and i enjoy painting their products. I also enjoy their games, such as Kings of War. So much so, in fact, that I am one of their pathfinders, official game demonstrators.

I also have my main blog page on facebook, at the following link = https://www.facebook.com/MarcusMinis

Comments and criticism are welcome and encouraged.

Alright everyone, a little bit of exposition:

I am a painter mostly these days. I create and model my collections to be functional wargaming armies because i do like to game. It's just i don't normally get to game much. This will change however, because I have just moved (well, still moving in) to a large metro area.

I figured i would spread my enjoyment of painting to those who also like and enjoy this hobby we share. As such, i figured i would open up myself to commission painting.

I don't aim to get rich, but to be able to give people who dislike the painting side of this hobby a way to get painted armies on the field at a very reasonable rate. It's why i negotiate everything on a case by case basis, tailoring the cost to the paintwork. Customer service is my priority, because honestly it is the most important thing in any work, even a small service.

And now, to what is up next. I have a mass of historicals from my personal collection to paint, as well as miniatures from the adeptus mechanicus range (an army I long awaited) and finally I just ordered a few age of sigmar models. while i don't intend to make this a full personal army, i do like the models enough to make it a significant painting project.

Further afield I have a possible commission for some empire troops. Any other commissions will add to this list.

New pictures will be posted tomorrow.

Update. Ogres/basilean themed contingent, and shields WIP for my numidian legionaries.

I'm going to be using the Age of Sigmar stuff as counts as ogres for Kings of War. They are in fact Statues formed by the shining one of the sun, while the other shining ones imbued other statues. The hoplite statues are representing men at arms. They are WIP and will look much better as a unit on the multi base i ordered.

As always, C&C welcome

WIP's I'd like comments on. First up is a warrior of the sun (ogre counts as for my basilean/ogre army) and then some historical german berserkers. Finally you have the beginning of my second unit of brazen hoplites (I.e. basilean men at arms with spears)

Hey there. I noticed that no one is commenting in your thread, and I know that can be frustrating, so here I am to comment.

I think it's awesome that you are getting commissions, and I'm sure your customers are going to be happy with the work since they must have known the level at which you are painting before requesting the job. Good for you!

In terms of C&C. I'll be frank with you. I don't think I'd commission anything from you. Your work is flat, lacks detail, your paints don't look to be layered or thinned, and your sample pics are poorly lit and have terrible background. Not only is it a fairly low level of skill presented, but the photos make it hard to work out what is even going on in the pics.

You have a long way to go before you'll be even intermediate in your skill, and I think that's probably why no one is responding.

Please don't let my comments discourage you though. If you are passionate about getting better, you will get better. Just look around at other painters blogs here at Dakka. You'll learn a ton, see how much people improve with time, and you'll get a good idea what commission quality work looks like.

Good luck with your painting!

It is probably because of the lighting. I just moved across the state. Still getting a workspace set up.

As to my painting level. I layer, highlight, wash, cglaze, etc. I do thin my paints. Also I tend to paint personal projects a little tougher than commission work although that is mainly because my personal projects are infantry heavy and I don't like spending hours and hours on base infantry for my personal armies.
