I'm in the process of building an army on a budget, I was lucky enough to find 10x XV8 Crisis Battlesuites' on eBay for a good price, but they came without drones.
I have looked into building a better rounded force and I want to add Missile Drones to most of my XV8 Crisis Battlesuit teams.
Firstly, I have searched this topic before I made this post. Also please understand I am very new to Warhammer 40k and the Tau Empire, so bear with me.

My questions are:
1. Apart from eBay, where can I purchase Missile drones from? I'm under the impression GW online only sell normal gun drones (at 4x for AUD$17 for that matter).
2. Are Missile drones only available when you buy an XV88 Broadside, or a XV8 Crisis Battlesuit team new from GW?

XV8s can't get missile drones unfortunately.

They come with the broadsides I think.

For marker drones at least, since ebay and 1 per stealth team sucks, you could take the lens part that comes with the XV8s and some slight cutting lets it fit flat on the bottom instead of the gun mounting part. Then drill into that for the flight stick.


If you could somehow get some spare missile pods you could do the same thing for missile drones anyway. As for the XV8s, their box of 3 comes with 6 gun drones. Really when collecting Tau you'll likely end up with too many drones at some point.

Yeah I'll probably have to look into making some with XV8 missile pods.

That is true, but the questions in original post was: "Where can we scrap the parts to make missile drones?"

Used the missile pods and slap them under the drone. Problem solved.

Yeah right, back to making the list.
The XV88 Broadside and the XV109 Y’vahra will be the only suits getting missile drones, thanks for the heads up.
