This is an offshoot of the drop pod thread. If wrecks block LOS as "if they were intact", and skimmers do not block LOS, does this mean that a wrecked skimmer does not block LOS (while having all other properties of a wreck - i.e. cover save, difficult terrain etc.)

Upon further inspection of the rule, I think you're right.
Holy crap.

Yes they block LOS. They are considered to have "crashed" and are now on the ground.
Edit*
Ha I think you are right actully. I swear somewhere in the rules it stated that skimmers are condisdered to have crashed if destroyed. But I can't find it now :\

It specifically says skimmers don't block LOS....until they become immobilized or wrecks.

Not to be assinine or anything, but once it is a wreck it follows the "LOS for wrecks" rules, and since wrecks block LOS as per the intact vehicle (an immobilized skimmer is not intact), that it's wreck doesn't block LOS... It could be argued that an immobilized skimmer blocks according to its profile, but I'm not sure which passage supports this. Kind of a circular arguement which could be cleared up that skimmers block LOS according to its profile when viewed from a model's eye view after being wrecked or immobilized. I'm not sure the "skimmers never block LOS" was properly thought through.

Again, the rule that says skimmers don't block LOS specifically says "unless immobilized or a wreck".

I understand that it blocks LOS when it is immobilized and/or a wreck. However, where the rules describe how wrecks block LOS is what causes a circular arguement, since those rules reference the vehicle's initial state. Of course, no-one would play it this way. Am I being overly obtuse with my interpretation?

BGB p.20: "All vehicles, vehicles wrecks... block line of sight. ... Skimmer vehicles only block LOS if immobilised or wrecked. Ergo, skimmers block LOS if wrecked or immobilised. I don't think there are any circular arguments there.
