I've recently bought a package off of ebay that is basically just a bunch of stikkbombs. My idea was to save time and money on making the bombsquigs with Gretchin. Practically just using a box of unopened gretchin to glue the stikkbombs to. The reason i think this would work is because Gretchin seen in these roles before, (like with the Grot bomb launcher.) So why couldn't I just come up with some fluff and say the Grots were promised some fungus brew or something along those lines.

I feel like my Gretchin being used as suicide bombers would be a really cool way to make my army unique. What are your guys thoughts?

Fluff-wise, seems fine - grots are certainly gullible enough to believe a devious ork's claims that "these magic stikkbombs will make you invulnerable and won't hurt at all, honest"

To me, the only possible modelling objection is that standard grot models have guns - although maybe the guns could be converted to detonators with wires leading to the stikkbombs? Or you could use Stompa grot crew if you can find any?

On Megabitz they have some cool grot poses with stikkbombs, along with a bunch of varying stikkbombs.

Yeah, that's what I mean - most of the standard gretchin box is grots with one or two guns and no arm choice, so to distinguish your counts-as bomb squigs from normal grots, it's preferable to do something to remove those guns. The pistol-grip hands limits your options, unless you want to replace the whole hands too.

But if your opponents won't care, the easy option is just to load up standard grots with a load of stikkbombs and claim that the guns aren't loaded or are broken. Pedantically, there's little in-game confusion really, unless you're likely to have a grot squad mingling with a tankbusta squad.

The other option is WHFB goblins, especially those with spears - a spear shaft is relatively easy to convert into the stikk of another stikkbomb
