Hey all,
Just thought I'd test the waters and ask is it just me that doesn't like GWs release ideas, that they can ram something new and expensive down our throats every week, yet we have to buy it because 9 times out of 10 it's important to the game? (Except the constant stream of new space marines codexes, the one thing to get more attention at GW. Come to think of it they pay more attention to the SM Codex than their customers!)

Or have I just opened a can of worms here?

except you DON'T have to buy it. I don't play eldar so I didn't buy codex: craftworld eldar.

etc.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

GW gives more OPness and attention to elves than marines. Marine whinging is done by elf players who want to be the main faction, despite being silly and out of place.

No one is forcing you to buy any book, and you don't need any other than the BRB and your codex.

If you don't play nids or orks, don't whinge. Be glad GW gave you so many options to max out your cheese

I don't get it. Why do you think space elves are out of place in a setting that is basically space fantasy?

You got space orks, space knights, space zombies, and space demons. Then they threw in IG and Nids because they read Starship Troopers and watched Aliens and were like "yeah let's do that!"

If anything tau are the most out of place. Zero grim darkness. Zero silliness. Zero space fantasy.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Anyone who thinks Tau are out of place, and have 0 Grimdark about them needs to go and read the Ultramarines novel 'Courage & Honour'. The Tau are fething manipulative, savage b****** in that one!

Spoiler:
One of my favourite bits that really shows just how callous and cold the Tau really are, is when they send literally thousands of Drones to attack a purely civilian target that's really nothing more than a city overflowing with refugees, just to pull Imperial forces into a diversionary battle, so the main Tau forces can attack elsewhere with overwhelming force.

They kinda remind me of protheans from mass effect on a grim dark scale. Better double check those air locks

No the "can of worms" that is generic GW whines about "making" you buy stuff with a heavy frosting of space marines are the favorites has been open for so long, many of us are wondering just how ANY worms are left in that can.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.
