Subject: What is a good secondary army to teach someone?

As stated, whats a good secondary army to teach people how to play? A coworker asked about warhammer the other day wondering if i could teach him, and I really wouldn't mind, but the only battle ready army I have is my Tau, where my Grey Knights is too small, and my Necrons is mostly unassembled.
The army could be anything, except for Chaos Daemons as I want them to actually be able to see the big 3 phases, and leave out psychic for the first few games.

Dark Eldar. Totally new player friendly and easy to paint. No physic due to she who thirsts.

Well in my opinion really your secondary army should be whatever you are most interested in. That way you can use your interest and enthusiasm to explain the story and cool rules to your friend.
Personally I think necrons would be great because their rules are fairly straightforward. They walk 6", they shoot 24", they can elect to run instead of shooting. Their ancient gauss weaponry can rip apart vehicles, and they get an extra roll to save because they're robots that might not have died, or came back to life after taking a shot. Pretty easy conceptually and mechanically (game mechanics that is. Pun coincidental.) and also pretty easy for them to win.
I'd say that's a good shot at getting someone interested.

Space marines without a librarian. Maybe put them on bikes so they can have a bit more forgiveness if he gets to aggressive or something. White scars?
Orks to be opposite your Tau.
Ask him what he would be interested in playing! But Necrons, scatter bikes, and marine bikes are all fairly easy to play.

Oh and wraiths would show them how potent close combat can be.

I use my Eldar to teach someone. It has a good spread of units to show off everything in the game, enough rules to be challenging but enough of them are consistent that they fit a rhythm. And, they're strong enough to help the player if he makes mistakes.

The only problem with my Necrons is they are in a state of unplayability, as I've torn apart all the bases and glued them onto a solid stand to make them a trophy army as sorts.
I heard space marines are really good, so that might be what I'm going with. Eldar also seems like a good idea, as they have units that all do certain jobs. Dark Eldar.... definitely not good from what i've heard.

Well, if you don't have models already, Dark Vengeance is a pretty good place to start, because Dark Angels are pretty good now, and you get the extra book and tools that you can give to your friend if they want to keep at it. Plus, most of the DA models are now usable in the context of a DA army.
And then you still have all the Chaos models, which are actually pretty useful models if you want to play CSM.

Get one of the old starter sets like Dark Vengeance or Black Reach. Use the models within to teach new players, just like they used to do in GW stores.

I'll see if I can find my old maccrage and black reach boxes lying around. I have been meaning to add onto my space marine army, but I've been slacking pretty hard. Thanks for the help everyone.
