On a Canoptek Spyder's Waiting List

This is a list I'm trying out for a tournament I have coming up. I am using the detachment out of Champions of Fenris that gives WG and TWC +1 WS. I am using some of the relics out of the book but I can't remember some of their names off the top of my head since I don't have the book in front of me at the moment, so I'm sorry about that.

HQs:

Wolf Lord: Runic Armor, Power Fist, Storm Shield, Thunderwolf, relic that lets you reroll all hits - 225

Rune Priest: Relic Terminator Armor, Relic Storm bolter, Mastery level 2 - 120

Troops:

Grey Hunters: 10 man including WGPL, plasma gun x2, 9 pistol & CCW, WGPL has terminator armor w/ power fist and combi-melta - 228

Grey Hunters: 10 man including WGPL, plasma gun x2, 9 pistol & CCW, WGPL has terminator armor w/ power fist and combi-melta - 228

Elites:

Wolf guard: 5 man, 5 plasma guns, drop pod transport - 200

Arjac - 115

Fast Attack:

Thunderwolf Cav: 5 man, 4 storm shields, 4 wolf claws - 340

Heavy Support:

Vindicator - 120

Long Fangs: 5 man, 3 missile launchers, 1 plasma cannon - 135

Long Fangs: 5 man, 3 missile launchers, 1 plasma cannon - 135

I haven't played a lot of 7th Ed games and this list is mostly based off of a list I ran in early 6th. The wolf lord goes with the TWC obviously and the rune priest goes with arjac and the wolf guard in the drop pod and hopefully removes something from the board the turn it comes in.

Any input or advice would be awesome!

Waterloo

I like it. It is a little low on infantry but it looks like it packs a punch. I'm all for the 4 ML fangs because they're cheap and versatile but I know some people like the one PC because of split fire. Also, I wouldn't foot slog the GHs, they're not cheap enough to let be out in the open. If it was my list I would drop the powerfists on them to put them both in pods, which gives you a decent alpha strike to the list. Have fun out there.

Also CoF needs two elites, and that comes down to how you interpret the Arjac not taking up a slot is optional or not.

Also I don't get the 5th TWC that has nothing, either get rid of him and spend the points elsewhere or find the points to give him a PF and SS and then take the PF off your lord and give him the krakenbone sword.

First of all as Kaela_Mensha_Khaine said loose the fist and replace it with krakenbone sword. That is the best all around wolf lord build.

The book says "If Arjac Rockfist is included in a Detachment that includes at least one unit of
either Wolf Guard or Wolf Guard Terminators, he does not take up a slot on the Force
Organisation Chart" so you need at least one more elite.

I would drop the grey hunters and arjack and use 2 pods of wolf guard one squad with combi-plasma, one with combi-melta and put the runepriest (dont use the relic terminator armour its too expensive) with the plasma ones for divination rerolls. Also wolf guard cant take special weapons only combi ones. Also put a hidden power fist in each wolf guard squad to make use of their base 2 attacks and WS5 for a turn 2 charge.

I would definately use a squad of long fangs with 4 lasscanons + 1missile launcher for split fire

In that point cost i would also use a Stormwolf

And last but not least thunderwolves. At least 2 squads to avoid focus fire in one squad, all with stormshields and at least a powerfist or thunderhammer in each squad

!!!If you wanna play greyhunters take the runepriest and the two GH squads as allied detach for objective secure!!!

Cheers
