I've played eldar since the beginning of 5th edition and I know that in 6th ed a wave serpent with scatter lasers was the undisputed best choice.
I haven't played in 7th edition much and was wondering what the best choice for a heavy weapon on the tank is now.
Is it still scatter lasers?

Starcannon if you want extra AP2, Brightpance is you want extra AT.

Depends entirely on what goes in it and how you use it. If you're playing conservatively with some Dark Reapers or some long range thing like that, Bright Lance. If you're talking general use, Starcannons are a nice choice when carrying Guardians or Dire Avengers or even alongside Scatbikes for that AP2 bonus for difficult targets the Scatter Lasers are having trouble with. But I run my one Serpent with Scorpions, so the Serpent is close up for the whole match with Infiltrate, so Scatter Lasers are still king for my playstyle. Puts out plenty of shots, and when it takes some damage I pop the shields for more attack power and run it until it dies. Also works well with Banshees or Storm Guardians I imagine but I haven't tried that.

They don't twin link other weapons anymore but that's it.

Scatter Laser all the way. They may no longer twin-link all of the other weapons, but they are still the best option if you're using it as a transport due to their general effectiveness against most targets. If you need additional anti-tank, a case can be made for Bright Lances. Starcannons are best used on other platforms.

There isn't much point to the other weapons.

Brightlances are redundant as the dex practically hands you D and haywire. Not to mention the amount of scatter lasers you can put in means you don't need to worry about anything AV 12 or less.

Star cannons are only good if you catch something in the open that has no other save. So kind meh.

EMLs are more expensive, sure they have the flakk missiles but 1 s7 shot isn't really worth it against flyers.

Shurikens are less shots less range with the fluke chance of ap2.

I have a fever, and the only prescription..is more scatter laser.

Remember, if you take WS as dedicated transports for the Aspect Host or DA Shrine, they become BS5.

I'd consider brightlances for that alone.
