Im Building a Manta at the Moment.
Thinking about the base now since i dont want mr Manta to crush my little taus.
Problem, its 12 Kilogramm.
I have Different ideas.

Take a baneblade And wreck it, Stick big metal Stick in it And pour it Out with lead.
Maybe looks nice as scenario base but i think a baneblade might be to Small.

Anyone got a good idea?!?

You'll probably need 3 or 4 supports for it, as well as reinforcing (with metal) the wings, if you want it to last.

Probably wise to use a welded or brazed internal frame of some sort. Even the Warhound sags like crazy after a while, reinforcement is absolutely necessary on models that size.

So, first consider the engineering aspects before you consider the scenic.

I think if I was doing something like that I'd probably machine a big slot in it and reinforce it with aluminium or stainless steel and then mount it all to a nice big circular hollow section stand. Possibly just buy a stirrup (post anchor, you can get them for under $10 from a hardware store) and modify it to bolt to a support that I had running across the aircraft.

You could then try and hide it in scenery, though I'd be inclined just to paint it matte black.

Does anyone sell a base for a manta perhaps?

I based my manta using 3 stands, 1/4 inch steel rods. One front and two back / sides. Then each rod was mounted on a 6" wood display style base. Making the manta worlds easier to play with. Will submit a pic if I can find one.
