I was doing some work on my Dark Eldar the other day and got to thinking that it would be fun to model up a miniature as Lobo to use as a Succubus or Haemonculus - stylistically, all the hooks and chains and exposed pale flesh all work well together, I thought.

Years back, Rob Jedi converted up a very good looking (and fairly easily replicable) Lobo model using an OOP Space Wolf Scout model:

This model has been an inspiration for me for a long time, but I've never gotten around to doing it. And while it's very cool, the aesthetic wouldn't really work with a Dark Eldar army.

Additionally, I'd also been thinking about some of the sketches I had seen for new looks for Lobo.

I was thinking about starting with a Wrack body and finding an appropriate head and going from there.

What do other people think, though? How would you convert up Lobo for a Dark Eldar army?

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

There's an infinity model that cries out for it.

The dismounted Kasym Beg Haqqislam biker character.

That's a 25mm base he's standing on.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I'd just buy the Knight Models: Lobo

Now this, weirdly, is something I tried to do once (badly). Not for 40k, but...

Painless Joe from heresy miniatures.

I did a terrible job (and gave up), but if you give him hair and a knee-pad, drop the ammunition backpack, he's a ripped, bigger than life, gun toting, chain-wearing bastich.

Be aware the Knight Models one is 35mm Scale, so will be be pretty big compared to GW minis. But then, this is Lobo!

Kasim would scale better, don't think you can get just the dismounted version though.

Thanks for the input, you guys - it's appreciated!

I was poking around a little more and I found that someone had already painted up Kasym Beg as Lobo.

Personally, I think these models are even better than the Knight Models one - although maybe that's just the paintjob on the Knight Model Lobo.

I mean, having Lobo be a 35mm model wouldn't be all bad. With regard to Dark Eldar, he shouldn't be Grotesque size, but he should certainly be bigger than your average Eldar or even a Wrack, maybe. Trick would be having him fit on a 28mm base.

And really, I don't see having both a Kasym Beg on foot and on bike as being a bad thing - it would just be a matter of modifying the bike a little to turn it into a jetbike and have it fit with the DE aesthetic. That way you could either run him as an Allied Eldar Autarch on bike or a Reaver Arena Champion.
