Well. I've recently become re-addicted to 40k fluff.

And I have two new (eBay) Beihnblehds. I still want a third...

So, the only logical solution is to make a baneblade company unbound list to kill my friend's Spess Mehreens.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

293rd Landsharks Baneblade Company

Hellhammer "The Thunder God" [590 pts]
- 1x Pair of Sponsons
- H/K Missile

Baneblade [575 pts]
- 1x Pair of Sponsons

Baneblade [575 pts]
- 1x Pair of Sponsons

-------------------------------------------------

I have the first two Baneblades (and no option of changing them), but I'm not adverse to getting two new 'blades to change things around. Anyone got any suggestions to improve this list?
Kinda want to keep the Hellhammer in this list.

Hows about:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

293rd Landsharks Baneblade Company

Hellhammer "The Thunder God" [590 pts]
- 1x Pair of Sponsons

Shadowsword "Magni" [505 pts]
- 1x Pair of Sponsons
- Targeters

Shadowsword "Modi" [505 pts]
- 1x Pair of Sponsons
- Targeters

Leman Russ Exterminator [150 pts]
- Heavy Bolter Sponsons

[1,750 pts]

Any suggestions?

I'm just saying, if you put this down in front of me to play a game I would pack my stuff back up and go home. Is this a joke?

I agree with fallenjackal. You might want to read the article on 1d4chan about being 'that guy' before fielding either of those suggestions.

...Both of you, up there. What are you playing, foot guard? I could easily table this list. Baneblades are both worse for the points and less durable than Imperial Knights.

I say go for it! I would love to go up against 3 super-heavies!

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

It's not about not being able to beat it, it's about how much I would enjoy playing the individual who put it down. Someone deliberately turning up with an army that 95% of a battleforged can't touch isn't wanting us both to have a good time.

Oh dear lord.

Having spoken about this to people who I play against, the /do/ find this to be their idea of fun.

One of them is a SM player who loves tank battles, and has lascannons, meltas and grenades up to the eyeballs. The other is an IG player who thinks this is hilarious.

It's not like I'm going to be using this on a pickup game just to be a tfg.

The closest to pickup use this is gonna get is a monthly Apoc game at my closest GW, where everyone brings up to 2k points of whatever, and then the organizer balances the teams.

Wow complainers . A baneblade company sounds awesome! Maybe with some sentinals for support.

Would be an entertaining match up to my hellforged hunting pack

If your opponent knows what's coming fair enough. Your opening post however clearly says that you were putting a list together to fight a space marine army. It reads like he's going to turn up with a normal army and you intend to field pure super heavies, which was the reason for my response. If your opponent is forewarned and knows not to bring bolters, then fair enough and have fun

Certainly would be a tough game. I'd defiantly fight it though.

So many things can deal with this sort of thing right now, however you would have to take more of it than you would in your average TAC list to beat 3 bane blades.

Things that are strong vs this list;

imperial knights - melee
Cult Mech/ Skitarii - haywire
eldar- all ( )
Marines - Grav, Melta, Melee
Space Wolves - Thunderwolf cav
Nids - FMC with haywire templates and rear armour tickling
Demons/Chaos - Melee, general invulnerability
Tau - Fussion suits

If you guys refuse to play anything, it should be eldar... haha, I jest!

I've got two players and apocalypse matches to put them in, so I'm set there

Mostly I just want to get a game or two with the baneblades I'll be making.

Yes. And this list has none.

It may look scary, but it's far from unstoppable, I think.

Looks like a fun list. I would play it for sure, if I was told I would meet 3 LoW's.

It sure would play faster than most 1750 games too!

Drop Trooper with Demo Charge

Somewhere between England and New Zealand.

Why not have each focus on a specific role. Basic Baneblades are very middle of the ground, why not swap both standard baneblades for a Stormlord and a Shadow sword?
