I don't go halves on the squad, but I do make some squads carbines, some squads pulse rifles...Pinning is nice but it requires you to get close (which isn't really something tau likes) You could do fish of fury with them... but that is just some to do for giggles. throws people off sometimes lol

Firewarriors shouldn't use carbines, drones and pathfinders are your carbine firepower. You cant fire pulse carbines at 24 with firewarriors you can with pathfinders. Pulse rifiles can quad tap at 15 where as carbines do at 9. I see no reason to use carbines on fire warriors.

For me, your FireWarriors are your gun line. You should have Rifles on them, as they have longer range. And you can keep them out of danger.

Carabines should go on your Pathfinders, as they are closer to the enemy and do not benefit from longer range. They benefit from pinning, denying their opponent to come super close and enter CC.
