Blood for the Blood God! See a Khorne Daemonkin army with both mortal and daemonic entities, who pledged their souls for Khorne, descend upon the Imperium worlds to collect the skulls for their patron’s throne!

It was a great army to paint, with lot of custom bits added to intensify the visual ties to the Blood God through the army. Also, the heavy use of alternative models was done here in a great way – the Khorne aesthetic was used here to it’s fullest.

We’ve also done a diorama for the Heldrake with several Space Wolves trying to engage the hell-forged fiend in mid-air!













How do you like the usage of models from Warhammer Fantasy Battle to represent Berzerkers and the addition of alternative Flesh Hounds?

I'm a big fan of you guys and the work you put out, but unfortunately for me, the OSL applied here really doesn't appeal.

I think the base colours and paint job are great, but the overall look would be much better without the oddly placed green OSL.

Agreed, on the whole great work as usual, but it's really spoiled for me by the OSL especially around the eyes and on the rhino.

Yup. The models look amazing apart from the OSL.

The colour choice, placement and execution are all poor.

I don't feel like I agree. Sure the second picture just didn't look right but the rest of them were amazing. I think the osl, even though somewhat unrealistic goes really well with the paint scheme. Well done!

I also dislike the OSL. It strikes me that the OSL in this case is being used to save time on painting the eyes in detail ?

Why do the rhino chapter symbols have osl? Thats just wrong and I feel its way over the top on the other models as well.

Apart from that everything else looks nice.

Great paint ruined by BAD OSL. I can't stress this enough about they way things are done in your studio. This is not the first time I have seen it being overdone by your studio. It just looks like it was spot sprayed on and not done cleanly. Khorne with not even a small spatter of blood ?

I've been impressed by everything you've done, but add me to the OSL disliking group. I think it really detracts from the rest of the model. It's way too over the top here.

I like the hounds a lot. Hate band wagon on the glow patches too. And also the soul grinder has 2 horrible mould lines on the chassis bottom front that just stand out. Rest I like

God, this would be so good if not for the damned OSL everywhere, sprayed all over the fantastic paint job.

Well, like in most cases, the OSL was part of the commission request, so even if it'll look better without in someone's taste to do it in other way, we're bound by the vision of the customer in most cases.

Well it's good to do what your customer wants! I really like the heldrake. I am doing something similar with the Skullreaper models, but I thought the legs were too fantasy so I'm using Skullreaper torsos with Chaos space marine legs.

I do have to mention one thing to the people who keep commenting on the green OSL being "overdone".

Have you experimented yet with doing thing glazes of green over red? Try it next time, you'll see that it goes muddy really fast (as per colour theory)

So in order to get some green OSL on top of red (as asked by a client... Nothing the studio can do about that), you have to go rather "heavy" on the green to get a colour that actually pops.

So is green OSL over a red base a good idea? No... Basic knowledge of colour balance could tell you that. But if that's what the client demand, there's very little else you can do about it.

I like the soulgrinder, but the mold line mentioned above is really bad.

I actually think I like the OSL on the soulgrinders eyes, everywhere else it looks terrible, but hey, if the customer is happy, thats what matters.

what models are the flesh hounds? If you don't mind me asking, I think they fit very nicely.
