I've fallen in love with a paint scheme from an old white dwarf I stumbled across, but there's no mention of what colours are used besides grey for highlights. If anyone could help me out, it'd be great. I've been experimenting with mixing The Fang and Russ Grey with Eshin Grey, Stormvermin Fur and Administratum Grey but that's not yielded anything like it.

Help would be massively appreciated!

Edit: forgot to add the image, woops.

Instead of mixing the colors you mentioned, apply thin layers of them over each other, it should give you much better consistent results. I would start with black primer, heavy drybrushing of eshin grey, pants= dark reaper base, highlight with fang etc; coat= fang base, drybrushing of codex grey, highlight with astratinum grey; white pattern on coat= astratinum grey with white highlight; leather= rhinox brown base, gorthor brown, etc.

That sounds reasonable. I'll try post the results of my tests on some old monopose grots.

I've thought about the official space wolves paint scheme?

But it hasn't got that grey to it. I'm not using Dark Reaper as I have the Fang Spray. I'm also missing Codex Grey and Rhinox annoyingly.

So how about:
Black, Eshin grey, Eshin mix with The Fang, The Fang, Then the Fang mix with Russ Grey, Russ Grey, then mix with Administatum.

I already know I'd do the leathers as Rhinox then Gorthor (or Steel Legion Drab) then Baneblade brown (since that's got a grey to it).

I'd probably do a dark blue grey then highlight with a neutral grey. The trousers I'd do with a dark blue and mix in neutral grey as the highlight. The brown bits I'd probably do Dryad Bark and mix in neutral grey for the highlights.
