Just wondering. Most gaming forums I've been to have some sort of standards as far as polite discourse and the filtering of propaganda and hate speech. Why doesn't Dakkadakka have any sort of code of rules for politeness? Everyone here is just plain snarky, rude, insulting and whiny 100% of the time. Are you all just trolling? Are there any real gaming fans here? Or is everyone on the forum just indulging in hyper meta-sarcasm?

Let me get this straight; you believe that you have found a cesspool of wargames-based internet sarcasm and ill-feeling, and you propose to point this out to people?

We all hate ourselves and project our unhappiness into wargaming discussion. Ultimately we all die at an early age due to the rage but there are many more of us to replace the dead. We cannot be beaten or changed and now the mods are one of us. The cycle cannot be broken. You too will join our ranks after 1 year of posting.

Give it time, soon you will learn to give in to your anger and lash out on those not yet angry.

Perhaps you are purely circulating some of the more passionate areas, because quite honestly, I've not come across any ear-steaming anger in my daily traipse around the forum.

I had this talk with a guy who teaches painting locally as upon learning I had an account here, he said, "Oh you use DakkaDakka..." in the same tone one might say, "Oh, you enjoy punching the homeless..."

To say it confused/surprised me is an understatement. I've not come across folk who are rude, entitled or unpleasant more than anywhere else, but it may be the areas that in turn I visit here.
