antasy Flight Games will release a new edition of the classic boardgame Fury of Dracula in Q4. The game has been a favorite of critics and collectors since its original release by Games Workshop in 1987, and used copies of the second edition currently sell for $75 or more.

Fury of Dracula is a combination of an overlord-style one-against-many game and a deductive reasoning game. One player assumes the role of Bram Stoker’s infamous Count, trying to expand his influence across Europe. The other players are the famous vampire hunters Dr. Van Helsing, Dr. Seward, Lord Godalming, and Mina Harker. The hunters travel about Europe, trying to uncover clues of Dracula’s plans and locations while trying to avoid the traps and minions of the vampire, in the hope of tracking him down and destroying him.
This edition features new artwork, and includes streamlined rules designed to simplify and speed up play. The game is for 2 -5 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 2 -3 hours. MSRP is $59.99.
Hope to be getting this as/when.
Bit worrying that I canr ecall the original release/review in White Dwarf !

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Man you're old. Edit: I got second edition, but I'll get this definitely. It'll probably have a readable rulebook.

Is it any good? BGG seems to be flagging some concerns that this might be a re-write/new edition that isn't just a re-print with new art - any news on that? I have to admit I've been looking for a gothic horror type game recently, so this caught my eye.

Its very good. Games Workshop designed some very nice boardgames back in the 80's, and some bad ones to be fair.
This and Talisman were two of the good ones. FFg to an if it aint broke dont fix it attitude and for the most part left the rules as they were. It included a female protagonist option and clarified movement for Dracula thats about it.

Well, Talisman 2nd Ed is one of my favourite games, so if it's from that lineage it might just be awesome! The fact it doesn't/didn't have any add-ons or expansions, and could be done in a few hours are extra selling points!

It's...mixed. Some games have been really fun, some have been very dull with some players having next to no participation over hours of gameplay.
Playing as Dracula is always a hoot, though.

Interested in this - I understood that the hunter players worked as a team - do they have no participation because they manage to miss Dracula's location, or something else?

The hunter do (or at least should) work as a team and can be controlled by any number of players.
