Someone asked not long ago about the size of the models.  The below image is a good shot for that.  This ship is about the size of a "Raid" class vessel, which is probably the medium sized ship in the game.

What's the consensus on using proxy ships? (i.e. BFG .... ) There are some cool looking models out there that I'd like to see pushed around a table and I am not too picky on the rules used to do it. But are others?

The chits that come with the main box set look good and work fine. That is what I am doing untill I decided which fleet I would like to collect.

The game plays just fine with counters or models.  And the counters are easy to come by.  If you and your friends want to use models from other game systems, anything would work.

The only tricky bit would be that in other play groups your opponent might like to know what he is facing.

Well I picked up the rules at Empire and they look pretty streamlined, which I like. But that (of course) got me to surfing around the net and I found about a 100 minis that I'd like to buy and play with (with appropriate swooshing sounds). So my enthusiasm for the game might wane a little if people were overly anal about the 'correct' models.

I have yet to see this in any game I've played or watched, but you never know.

The game looks good and I'll likely be trying to get a Flex League (tm) game in soon.
