So, looking at this formation in the Cult Mech book, I was wondering how viable it would be to take it as a self-contained addition to almost any other medium point army to bring the army cost up.

Perfect from a fluff standpoint, as that's kinda what the techpriests do.

Gamewise it's also very powerful, as it could allow for some much needed anti tank or anti monster (Arc/Torsion respectively) to any army that is otherwise lacking, and because of the deep strike rule it has, there's no way it couldn't just drop in behind something you don't like and comfortably erase it, which also gets around the alliance issue for that 20% of armies that could actually use the help.

What have people found this formation to be like, and is it actually as broken as it looks on paper?
