The Warhammer Fantasy 8.5 project is aimed at implementing minor rule updates and often requested changes that people wanted to see in 9th edition Warhammer Fantasy Battles.

The project is not about a rewrite of the rules, but rather an update to the existing rules with balance in mind (with a few alterations to existing rules to cater for what some wanted 9th to be.)

The Warhammer Fantasy Community Facebook page is located at;
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1483795728606274/?fref=nf

Feel free to join the group and have all the latest updates located in one easy location.

It is envisioned that once the rules are out, every six months will be an updated Army Book release for both 8.5 as well as 8.1 (a sister project which is designed to release Rules/Army Books digitally with the exact same content as the GW but with the GW issued errata already incorporated into the Army book.) To keep things fresh however, in between the major releases, an updated version for 8th will be Army lists that were originally released in White Dwarf or Storm of Chaos (The Dwarf Slayer Army, The Gnoblar Army, the Dark Elf City Garrison list, etc)

Also, in September when the 8.5 Update goes gold; not only will you be able to get the update & FAQs (both GW and community sourced) in a single document, you will also have available the WHFB 8.5 Battlebible. The Rules for Warhammer Fantasy 8th edition updated with the 8.5 rule changes, but also with additional chapters such as Regiments of Renown (games up to 200pts), Warhammer Skirmish (games up to 1000pts) and Legendary Battles (games of 5,000pts and more) which were originally printed in White Dwarf but updated for 8th edition. Also included will be the most recent versions of the ETC, South Coast GT & Swedish Comp systems so that your gaming groups have a variety of ways to play Warhammer Fantasy.

Below are the current links to the current Beta versions of the files
The final versions are still undergoing playtesting and are due out by the end of September 2015 after which work will start on the first Army book updates.
